The GeoStructure program in the School of Geology and Geophysics focuses on the analysis of structures of the upper crust: faults, folds and joints.

We investigate fundamental structural processes and their applications to petroleum geology and earthquake processes.

The graduate students in the program explore fault-fold systems, structure of thrust belts, earthquake processes, structure of fault-zones and fracturing mechanisms.
