Structural Geology Labs

The ditital structural geology workroom (in room P109) includes two dual monitor Dell PC workstations and a Sun Blade workstation. These have the following configuration:

Dell Dimension 8100

Dell Precision 450

Sun Blade 200

1.5 GHz P4 processor, 1GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive.

Dual 2.4 GHz Intel Xeon processors, 2GB RAM, 2 hard drives of 120 GB

Dual 1.2 GHz Ultrasparc III Cu processors, 2GB RAM, 73 GB hard drive

PCs are primarily used for GIS applications, Cross section construction and 3-D modeling. The Sun Blade is primarily used for seismic interpretation in both Landmark and Geoquest packages. We also have a SGI Octane workstation, loaded with 3-D visualization tool that is set up in room A125 used primarily to seismic interpretation and 3-D visualization purposes.
